ARTSA's activities address heavy vehicles used in all aspects of the road freight transport and road passenger transport industries. ARTSA provides advice and support to members, regulatory agencies and other transport industry bodies concerning issues including:

• Productivity and safety of heavy vehicle operations
• Compliance with regulatory requirements
• Environmental effects of vehicle operation
• Size and weight limits
• New technology.

Mission Statement

To provide a facility for members of ARTSA to:

• Meet as a single group,

• Facilitate a coordinated approach by the Road Transport Industry Suppliers to governments and the Road Transport Industry as a single entity, and,

• Promote and further the Road Transport Industry.

Goals and Objectives

1. To present new products that will benefit the Road Transport Industry, to other interested transport associations.

2. To release documents voicing opinions of changes to Australian Design Rules (ADRs) or State and Federal road laws or any matter affecting the Road Transport Industry, and generally be a supportive voice to that industry.

3. To open membership to a broad base of Road Transport Industry Suppliers to ensure a balanced view on transport matters.

4. To provide a mechanism for Road Transport Suppliers to address issues of common concern.

5. To provide members with information on pending road and vehicle legislation, ADRs and government regulations pertaining to the Transport Industry, prior to implementation of such changes.

6. To act as the primary resource of technical expertise with respect to significant road transport issues.

7. To work with the Transport Industry on Community Awareness Programs promoting the importance of road freight to the economy and standard of living.
